Jersey archers delivered a strong set of results at the 2026 Hampshire Outdoor Championships, held as part of a two day shoot at Andover Archers in Hampshire.
The World Record Status tournament attracted archers from across different counties including Hampshire, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Wight, competing in a demanding programme of Double WA720 and WA1440 rounds. The competition saw athletes shooting at distances of up to 90 metres for the men and 70 metres for the ladies across a range of archery disciplines.
Saturday was warm and windy with gusts at times which suited the Jersey archers.
Saturday results
Grace Harvey – First – Recurve Female Under 18
Harry Gordon – First – Barebow Open Under 15
Francis Rocha – First – Compound Open 50+
Heath Perrett – Third – Compound Open
Angela Perrett – Second – Compound Female
Carter Frisby – First – Barebow Open U21
The Jersey County Champions were:
Grace Harvey – Recurve Female Under 18
Harry Gordon – Barebow Open Under 15
Francis Rocha – Compound Open 50+
There were also strong performances across the rest of the Jersey squad, with a number of personal bests and season-best scores recorded throughout the weekend.
Hannah Bridle and Grace Harvey both achieved their six-gold-end badges at the second-longest distance on Sunday, another notable achievement in a competition requiring consistency and accuracy.
Other Jersey archers also finished among the leading competitors in their categories for the County Championships.
Angela Perrett second place Compound Female
Heath Perrett finished third Compound Open
Carter Frisby secured second place in Barebow Open.
There were some very tight results particularly in the Compound Open category with just 7 points separating the top three.
For most of the Jersey contingent, the Hampshire Championships marked the final outdoor competition of the season. However, the season is not quite over for Angela Perrett, who will represent Hampshire this weekend at the National County Team Championships.
The results provide further evidence of the strength and depth of archery in Jersey, with the island’s 11-strong contingent performing strongly across recurve, compound and barebow disciplines against competitors from a much wider area.
With three County Champions, podium finishes, personal bests and season-best performances, the Hampshire Championships proved to be a highly successful conclusion to the outdoor season for the Jersey archers.
