It has been a busy and successful time for Jersey Cricket.
In June Jersey Men’s cricketers enjoyed great success by remaining unbeaten in the first stage of qualification for the ICC 2028 T20 World Cup.
Later in July Jersey welcomed Nepal and the UAE for 2 games each.
Previously Jersey’s Women’s team were crowned European T10 Champions. This Summer the Women’s team took part in the T20 International Triangular Series in Switzerland coming 2nd behind Brazil and ahead of Spain and Switzerland.
On an individual note, Asa Tribe continues to perform well for Glamorgan, England Lions, Paarl Royals and Welsh Fire. Grace Wetherall will shortly be playing for Vancouver Anchors in the Super 60 Tournament in Canada.
Domestically, Jersey Cricket and St Michael’s School announced a strategic partnership to
enhance facilities and player development.
Now Jersey Cricket aim to build on that success (literally) and open an indoor cricket facility at their Grainville home.
This has only just been submitted to the Planning Department so still many hurdles to overcome, but such a long awaited facility can only enhance the performance of local players of all ages and abilities, as well as demonstrating to other international cricketing countries that Jersey has the facilities to welcome them and their supporters to our Island. If approved, the new facility will sit in the corner of Grainville Field alongside the much larger Indoor Bowling facility.
As well as benefitting cricketers in the Island, there will be a knock on benefit to other sports as Jersey Cricket will be able to free up their current bookings within indoor facilities to other sports.
The third bit of good news is that Jersey Cricket propose funding the build from their own reserves and cricket supporters in Jersey rather than the public purse.

The Jersey Sports Council will be submitting a letter of support to the Planning Department. This course of action can also be taken by other sports bodies and individuals.
