The Liberation Pétanque Club is hosting its annual International Open at the terrains by Liberation Square from Friday 24 July to Sunday 26 July.
Some 130 players representing 37 clubs from England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Norway, Switzerland, Belgium and Madagascar will be competing over the weekend.
Those competitors include former World Champion Julian Lamour (France), Norway’s champion, Benny Bel-Lafkih, as well as England’s Jason White and Kai Sheffield, bronze medallists at the recent European Singles Championships.
Friday features the Singles with 56 players including defending champion, England’s Steve Daykin. On the Saturday 56 teams will compete in the Doubles competition with the Triples competition on the Sunday when 40 teams will compete.
Spectators are welcome throughout the three-day event and admission is free.
