Following on from March’s Nationals competition, June saw our younger elite skaters travelling back to Great Yarmouth to compete in the GB Skate Artistic Championship event, allowing the athletes to complete their dance programs after months of hard work.
Dolly-Rae took the silver medal position earning a well deserved Vice Champion title in the mini’s category with her great energy and enthusiasm.
Effy with her infectious smiles and Alix with her incredible resilience and enthusiasm saw some great results to round off their GB Skate season and all are incredibly proud of their efforts.
In the espoir age category Ivy and Izzy showed us some dazzling performances both entering a tough category but their hard work paid off resulting in both just outside of podium finishes; impressive feats without a doubt.
Martha in the cadet age group grew on her earlier debut international event, with stunning technical awareness and grace resulting in impressive placements in her dances.
July 2026
Regent Skating Club enjoyed an outstanding weekend at the GB Skate Artistic British Youth – Senior Dance Championships, held in Great Yarmouth, with five skaters proudly representing the club at Britain’s premier artistic roller dance competition.
In the Senior Ladies competition, Libby Watts produced two excellent performances to claim the British Senior Ladies silver medal, finishing second overall in a strong field of 20 competitors.
There was further silverware in the Junior Ladies event, where Hannah Lamy capped her final season as a junior by taking the British Junior Ladies silver medal, finishing a close second.
Regent’s third medal came in the Youth Men’s competition, where Jack Ovens skated superbly to be crowned British Youth Men’s Champion, securing the national title with two confident performances.
The club’s remaining senior ladies also represented Regent with distinction. Sophie Baker and Hannah Watts placed in accomplished positions, competing against many of Britain’s most experienced senior skaters in one of the strongest fields of the weekend.
The results reflect the dedication, perseverance and hard work shown by all five athletes, together with the continued support of their coaches, families and the wider Regent Skating Club community.
