Ollie Voak and Megan Roworth retained the British Hobie 16 National Championships title in August.
The title winning partnership were joined on the national stage by two other Jersey crews, Luke Paxton-Garnier with Steph Egan, and siblings Juliette and Russell Walton.
To add to their achievements, Juliette Walton was “the first female helm”, making the weekend all the more special.
Friday’s weather brought light winds and at the end of the first day, Ollie and Megan were in second place, Luke and Steph were in third, whilst Juliette and Russell were close behind.
On the Saturday the wind came up fiercely which caused capsizes and withdrawals in the fleet, including Luke & Steph and the Waltons, which naturally affected their final position.
Ollie and Megan leant on their experience to bring their boat home and retain the title.
